9 beds | 5.5 baths | #539079
Description
The home was constructed in 1974 by the previous owner, Ron Bown. The home is a kit from Aladdin Homes. It is called “The Savannah” Southern Colonial. The pieces to the home were all pre-cut and shipped by train to Pleasantville than trucked to the site. Ron constructed the home by himself. The home was completed in 1975, where Ron and his wife Mary lived and raised their son Chuck. The home sits on approximately 2.2 wooded acres in desirable Port Republic. I purchased the home in August of 2018. The home was in despair and needed a complete update. I wanted an open floor plan, so I consulted the architect Harry Harper to help me with my design. I wanted to keep the Southern colonial style, but I knew the house needed changes. I slowly worked my way through the home gutting out the bathrooms, kitchen, and walls. After almost 2 years, the home is now completed. The roof was replaced with new 30 year GAF Timberline shingles. All the siding was replaced with new Certainteed Mainstreet vinyl siding. There is a new deck with maintenance free Treks decking and vinyl rails. A new paved patio and walkway have also been installed. The yard is landscaped, hydro-seeded. And a new irrigation system installed. All the trim work is a Metro series trim with crown moldings, wainscoting, solid core doors, French doors, and oversize trim throughout. The great room has a new gas fired fireplace with custom illuminated built in cabinetry on both sides.
